Go See a Movie

What makes Berlin truly special is its diverse cultural landscape, with a standout feature being the city’s vibrant independent cinema scene. Our latest edition of the Neighborhood Map was created in collaboration with MUBI GO, a subscription service that includes access to MUBI's curated films and a weekly cinema ticket. This map highlights some of the cinemas alongside the best spots in their surrounding neighborhoods.

A digital guide designed for you to explore the city in new ways and dive into films that take you beyond the ordinary. And of course, it’s not just about the movie — this edition also highlights the best spots for before-and-after, where you can relax, digest, discuss, and rave about what you just saw. To offer fresh perspectives, we asked six cultural protagonists from different fields to share their favorite spots. Explore our map now to check out the first round of personal recommendations by Aaron Altaras, Carrie Hajny, Susanna Kim and Langston Uibel. And stay tuned for more stories coming in early 2025.

Follow us on Instagram for more photos, reels, and tips. And share your cinephile moments with us while you’re out and about!

A cocktail bar without an Instagram account? Unheard of. But with 50 years under its belt, Rum Trader doesn’t need one. One of Berlin’s oldest cocktail bars, their drinks are curious and (unsurprisingly) usually rum-based.
