Kreuzberg? Feels like home

Born and raised in Istanbul, Sera Akyazıcı knows the rhythm of a busy street. When she feels homesick, she takes a stroll through Kreuzberg; when life gets too hectic, she escapes to the movies. Babylon Kino, right next to Kottbusser Tor, offers both—the energy of the city and a space for great independent films. That’s where we met the Berlin-based producer and founder of TOURIST, a community platform and production house, before wandering through the neighborhood. Over first meze and then matcha, we talked about her favorite films (Sivas by Kaan and Yasin Müjdeci) and her go-to seat (last row, always). And after the movie? A long walk home to reflect.
