Weekends in Berlin are about exploring green grass, monumental architecture and cute houseboats!
With its sunny lawns crossed by wide paths, Treptower Park is the perfect spot to unwind. Get up early to enjoy some privacy on this route. Cross Puschkinallee to pass through the former West, then follow the maple trees down to the carp pond. Enjoy a short break at the banks to stretch, and head southeast to the Isle of Youth and Berlin’s houseboat colonies. In summer, stop for a drink at the Zenner Biergarten before taking your way back or head further South discovering Plänterwald and its former amusement park. Follow the narrowing paths to the city’s oldest ferry connection to make your way along the water back to where you started – but not without a refreshing pit-stop at Eierhäuschen and enjoying the kitchen of head chef Jessi-Joyce Sidon.
Boating is romantic and gives you a full-body workout if you do canoeing or SUP. Nostalgiahunters should try vintage pedal boats and hand painted canoes.
Treptower Park’s rose garden shows its DDR roots, offering a completely different approach to park architecture.

This carp pond had people take a break since 1888. Let your mind wander and keep your eyes open for Nöck, a statue by Otto Peri peeping out of the water.

Longing for a picnic after your run? Just take the Abteibrücke – the oldest bridge of its kind in Germany – to this green island far away from the city’s hustle and bustle.

An absolute gem for your weekend trip. Soak up the sun and gaze at the water while enjoying the excellent gastronomy of head chef Jessi Joyce-Sidon.
Enjoy the cool breeze coming from the Spree, an ice-cold Radler and an original Berliner Currywurst or Königsberger Klopse.
